What is grooming and why is so important?
Pet grooming refers to both the hygiene and cleaning care of the pet, as well as a process in which a dog's physical appearance is enhanced. Depending on the breed, age, and health of the dog, grooming may be a daily activity. Many breeds require significantly less grooming than others, but regular grooming helps to ensure the dog is healthy and comfortable. It is important to note that while many dogs shed, others (such as the Poodle), do not shed as profusely, and require grooming by a professional every 6–8 weeks. Grooming Is an important part of dog care. Pet grooming is important because it helps to prevent other possible health problems such as fleas, ticks, tumors ,allergies just to name a few. Remember, a clean dog is a happy and healthy dog.

Do you do anal glans and ear plucking?
Anal glands are located on each side of the anus. Some liquid may become trapped in the glands and it can become infected. We gently express them externaly.
Ear plucking is the removal of the hair inside the ear canal. Plucking ears is a double edge sword. If you pluck the hairs it could cause an ear infection as the dirt and wax build on the ear canal walls rather than the hair. If you don't , an access amount of hair in the ears can prevent air flow through the canal which can also produce an ear infection.
Ear plucking and anal expression are optional and can be done with any of our service packages at no additional cost.

Do I need to make an appointment?
By making an appointment ahead of time ensures that your pet is not waiting any longer than necessary and it also insures that you get the time you need. Saturday are especially busy, therefor appointments are highly recommended. We are happy to take walk in when available.

The amount of time to groom a pet varies by size, condition of the skin and coat, temperament and service. Grooming usually takes 2 to 3 hours.
-
Yes we groom cats.
-
Pets are placed in cages for their safety. We keep cage time as minimal as possible. Someone will always be there to watch your pet.
-
We towel and hand dry most of our pets. We do cage dry at times when pets don't tolerate the loud noise that comes from the hand dryer. We will never use heat in our cages.
-
Why don't you list your prices?
Grooming packages are based on size, coat & skin conditions, time taken to complete the service and temperament. While we do our best to provide you with a price range over the phone, you'll get a more accurate quote when you come in for your appointment and meet with the groomer where she can consult the pet in person.
-
We never sedate pets. Please let us know if your pet has a strong behavior reaction to grooming or bathing. If a pet is truly uncooperative or uncomfortable by the process we might chose to end the session and refer you to a Vet.
-
For the safety of the pets & staff we do not allow pet parents to assist with the grooming or stay in the back or bathing area. However you are more than welcome to visit our facility before your appointment. Please call to notify the staff.
